4 Days Double Gorilla Tracking Rwanda
4 days double gorilla tracking in Rwanda takes you to see the gorillas twice, visiting a different gorilla family on each day in Volcanoes national park.
Itinerary
Day 1: City tour and Transfer to Volcanoes NP.
You will be picked from the hotel or airport on arrival by your tour guide/driver and if still early, go for Optional Kigali city tour. Visit the genocide memorial, Nyamata church, local markets among others. Later, drive northwards to Volcanoes national park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Muhabura Hotel/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge/Mountain gorilla View Lodge.
Day 2: First Gorilla Tracking and cultural walk.
In the morning after an early breakfast, gather at the park headquarters at 7:30am for a compulsory pre-tracking briefing where you are also allocated a group to track. After briefing from the senior park ranger you will commence your memorable gorilla trekking which normally takes 2 to 6 hours in the jungle. You will be allowed to stay in the presence of the gorillas for a maximum of 1 full hour. Later return to your Hotel for Relaxation. In the evening, you may go for cultural walk to Iby’wachu. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: 2nd Gorilla tracking and nature walk.
Have an early breakfast and gather at the park headquarters for briefing again before going for the second gorilla trek in Volcanoes national park, this time visiting a different gorilla family. In the evening, you may go for nature walk to Burera and Ruhondo or relax at your lodge all evening. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Golden monkey tracking and Transfer back to Kigali and departure.
In the morning, you will go for golden monkey tracking, where you will encounter other monkey species. On return, transfer back to Kigali, do last minute shopping before heading to the airport to check in for your departure flight.
