In a continued effort to improve Rwanda’s tourism sector, Rwandair which is the flag carrier for Rwanda operating both local and international flights has acquired a new Airbus A330-200 which is the first in East Africa. This airline which is registered as 9XR-WN was named ‘Ubumwe‘ and will be followed by a similar fleet later at the end of the year. The Airbus A330 is the world’s most successful wide body plane with a market share of nearly 67 percent, completely outranking the competition.
Rwanda is the fastest growing country in the world with a population of twelve Million people. This country, also known, as a country of “a thousand hills” because of the mountainous nature is land locked neighboring Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi, but her landlockedness has been unlocked ton the world by development of airlines.
Rwandair flies to most continents in the world including Europe, America, Africa, Asia. This has helped travel into Rwanda easier with most people coming to Rwanda for tourism activities and others traveling outside Rwanda for trade.
Rwanda has developed tourism infrastructure with good roads and accommodation which has been a great boost to tourism industry.
Rwanda has four national parks with three major parks being Akagera National park, Nyungwe Forest National park and Volcanoes National park which is the most popular of all because of being a home for mountain gorillas which are only found in Rwanda, Uganda and DR Congo in the whole world.
Tourists come from all over the world to come for gorilla tracking and other tourists related activities.
With Rwanda acquiring better airline that traverses the whole world, it will make it cheaper to fly in and out of Rwanda and connect with the whole world and East Africa region in particular to be able to see all tourists attractions Africa has to offer with convenience.
